Remote Engagement FAQ's

What is remote engagement?

Virtual interactions between lecturers and students supported by ICT technologies such as computers, smartphones and internet technologies to facilitate learning outside a lecture room.

How will examinations be administered?

Through Moodle. The remote exam will take a combination of two forms as determined by the specific department.
1. Take home/Project
2. The timed online examination

How will I submit assignments?

Through Moodle that shall be provided by a specific unit lecturer as per the timetable.

How will I access online library resources?

All online library resources are accessible through the following links

How do I pay my fees?

1. Pay fees to KCAU Bank Accounts Click here for Bank Account Details

2. Through Mpesa paybill 300078 account number is the student registration number. A receipt shall be sent to your student portal within 24 hours.

New applicants will use National ID number for account number and paybill no. 300078 MPESA Details

How do I check my fee balance?

Through the university students’ portal.

What will I do if I need technical assistance?

Will there be a timetable for remote classes?

Yes. Examination timetable will be sent to students through e-links by the unit Lecturer.

When will examinations take place?

Remote examinations will start on 4th May 2020 to 17th May 2020.

How will I register for next trimester?

Through online registration student portal provided for on the university website.

How do I register for supplementary and special examinations?

Contact the Chairman of the specified unit department for advice.

Will Student / SAKU services be available during this period of remote engagement?

Yes. All student relations issues should be brought to the attention of the Dean of Students – odiwuor@kcau.ac.ke for action.

How will practical units like Computer programming and others be handled under remote engagement?

Using a suitable Learning Management System as guided by the unit Lecturer.

Will quantitative units be taught under remote engagement?

Yes, They will be taught like any other course.

When will face to face mode of teaching resume?

When the Government declares it is safe to do so.

How will students who need clearance on exemptions be supported?

Will KASNEB Examination be done in July?

Yes. As communicated by the CEO KASNEB. Students will be supported through remote engagement to complete the syllabus. In case of any changes the university will seek guidance from KASNEB.

What will happen to our June 2020 ACCA examinations?

ACCA UK office will communicate as appropriate. For more information, contact the ACCA coordinator:
