PART-TIME ASSISTANT TRAINER – BARISTA & MIXOLOGY

Job Objective

  • The Part-Time Assistant Trainer – Barista & Mixology will be responsible for facilitating practical, industry-oriented training in mixology and barista skills, ensuring high-quality hands-on learning and an outstanding student experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and theoretical training in mixology and barista skills through demonstrations, workshops, and supervised practice sessions.
  • Facilitate hands-on learning in beverage preparation, service standards, and customer experience.
  • Participate in the development, administration, and marking of practical and theoretical assessments.
  • Assist in developing training materials, schemes of work, and maintaining student performance and attendance records.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to support students’ technical and professional growth.
  • Supervise students during practical sessions and ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of training content aligned with industry trends.
  • Maintain training equipment and ensure proper use of barista and mixology tools.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and institutional activities as required.
  • Represent the Institute professionally to students and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Diploma in Food and Beverage or related field from an accredited/recognised institution.
  • Certification in Mixology and/or Barista training is an added advantage.
  • Must be a registered Trainer with TVETA
  • Must have hands-on industry experience in mixology and/or barista practice
  • Strong flair in culinary presentations.
  • Experience in training or coaching in a hospitality setting is desirable.
