Brand Your Future: KCAU Career Fair 2026

KCA University hosted its 2026 Career Fair at the Main Campus, Ruaraka, bringing together students, industry leaders, and public sector representatives for a high-impact engagement focused on career readiness and employability.

Organised by the Dean of Students Office at KCA University, the 2026 Career Fair stood out as a dynamic and impactful platform bridging academic preparation and the evolving demands of the workplace.The event brought together students, industry leaders and public sector representatives for learning, networking and career discovery.

Throughout the event, students were exposed to a wide spectrum of career pathways across multiple sectors, gaining firsthand insight into industry expectations, emerging trends, and opportunities for growth. Interactive sessions and engagements with professionals enabled students to build meaningful networks, ask critical questions, and better understand how to position themselves strategically in a competitive job market. The experience went beyond theory, equipping students with practical knowledge on workplace readiness, adaptability, and professional conduct.

A keynote address by Prof. Charles Ochieng’ Ong’ondo, Director/CEO of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, challenged students to rethink the traditional markers of success. He emphasised that while academic qualifications remain important, they must be complemented by integrity, creativity, critical thinking, and a willingness to continuously learn and contribute. His message underscored the need for graduates to be not only knowledgeable, but also agile and value-driven in their professional journeys.

In addition, Sylvester Obong’o, representing the CEO of the Public Service Commission, Paul Famba, reinforced the importance of intentional career development. He highlighted personal branding, professional ethics, and consistency as key differentiators in today’s job market, noting that “your personal brand and work ethic will shape the opportunities that come your way.” His remarks resonated strongly with students, encouraging them to take ownership of their career paths early on.

The Career Fair ultimately reinforced KCA University’s commitment to student success by fostering direct industry engagement and aligning academic experiences with real-world expectations. By creating platforms such as this, the University continues to empower its students to graduate not only with qualifications, but with the confidence, networks, and competencies needed to thrive in a rapidly changing global workforce.
