The pact was signed by Prof. Isaiah Wakindiki; Vice Chancellor and CEO of KCA University and Dr. Shawn Chen Founder and Chairman of the SIAS University Board marking a milestone in KCA University’s internationalization strategy.
This engagement positions both institutions as key drivers of cross-continental academic partnerships that link Africa and Asia through education, research and innovation. With a shared vision of producing globally competent graduates and strengthening intercultural understanding, the agreement outlines a robust framework for mutual collaboration.

Under the MoU, KCA University and SIAS University will:

  • Facilitate the exchange of faculty and administrative staff.
  • Promote student mobility for short-term, semester-long, or year-long programs.
  • Share academic materials, research outputs and curriculum models.
  • Co-organize joint research projects, academic conferences and symposia.
  • Support faculty-led study abroad programs.
  • Explore other forms of mutually beneficial academic exchanges.

Speaking during the signing, Prof. Isaiah Wakindiki emphasized the significance of this engagement in shaping the future of higher education:
“This MoU is more than a partnership. It is a commitment to co-create knowledge, open global doors for our faculty and students, and reaffirm our role as a university without borders.”
Dr. Shawn Chen echoed the sentiment, noting the growing importance of African-Asian academic linkages and the value of fostering people-to-people connections through education.

This agreement also reflects the empowerment of private universities to take center stage in advancing global learning and academic equity.
As KCA University continues to grow its global footprint, partnerships such as this demonstrate the institution’s commitment to enriching student experiences, enhancing research opportunities and building a future-ready, globally competitive academic community.
