As the 2026 academic year begins, Prof. Isaiah I. C. Wakindiki, PhD, EBS, VC & CEO of KCA University, engaged academic staff in a strategic session focused on the University’s institutional direction for the year ahead. Held at the University’s main campus at the start of the 2026 academic year, and conducted virtually to accommodate academic staff across Kisumu and Kitengela campuses, the engagement brought together academic leadership and faculty to align on priorities that directly shape the student experience.
Marked by open dialogue, the session set the tone for a year anchored on quality education, academic excellence and the intentional development of graduates equipped to make a meaningful impact in society.

At the heart of the engagement was a clear message: quality in education must be intentional, sustained, and collectively upheld. Addressing faculty, Prof. Wakindiki reinforced that academic excellence is not incidental but the result of deliberate standards, reflective teaching practice, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
“Quality in education is intentional. It is built through rigorous academic standards, committed educators, and a shared institutional vision that guides how we teach, mentor, and assess our students,” Prof. Wakindiki noted.
This focus aligns with the University’s broader mission to deliver relevant, high-impact education that responds to evolving societal and industry needs while maintaining academic integrity and depth.
During the session, academic staff reflected on their role in shaping not only curriculum delivery, but also the learning environment and overall student experience. The engagement reinforced the importance of reflective teaching practice, curriculum relevance and continuous improvement as foundations for producing graduates who are academically robust, professionally competent and values-driven.
“Our responsibility as educators extends beyond content delivery. We are shaping graduates whose competence, ethics, and mindset will influence organisations, communities, and the nation,” Prof. Wakindiki said.

For students, the University’s institutional direction for 2026 translates into a more intentional and supportive academic experience. It means learning in an environment where teaching quality, curriculum relevance and academic standards are consistently strengthened.
Students can expect clearer learning pathways, enhanced academic support and programmes designed to equip them with practical skills, ethical grounding, and the confidence to thrive beyond graduation.
“When we focus on quality at every stage of the academic journey, our students benefit the most, through stronger learning outcomes and graduates who are ready to contribute meaningfully to society,” Prof. Wakindiki added.
As KCA University advances into 2026, the faculty engagement reaffirmed that institutional progress is a shared responsibility, led by academic leadership, upheld by academic staff and experienced most directly by students.
With quality as its cornerstone, the University remains committed to supporting academic staff as partners in this journey, while fostering an academic environment where students are supported, challenged, and prepared to lead with competence, integrity, and purpose; recognising that the strength of its graduates, and the impact they make in the world, begins with the quality of education delivered within its classrooms.
