Course Overview

This program is designed to provide quality training to those seeking to expand their knowledge and level of education from certificate level, those already practicing as journalists and social media practitioners without requisite academic qualifications in media, and the many high school leavers seeking to join the media careers. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide the mass media industry with graduates that will competently, efficiently and confidently serve the nation and the world in their capacities as communicators and journalists using traditional and digital platforms.

Who Can Join

This program is suitable for any person who has passion and interest in starting and developing a career in journalism and digital media.

Entry Qualifications

  • At least C- (C MINUS) in KCSE or equivalent, with a minimum of grade C- in English or Kiswahili.
  • OR
  • A minimum of D+ in KSCE or equivalent, with a certificate in media studies or related fields and two years of working experience.
Duration & Structure of The Programme
  • This program runs for SIX (6) trimesters. In the first five trimesters, students will take five (5) units per trimester. In the 6th trimester, students shall proceed for industrial attachment.
Mode of Delivery of The Programme/Course
  • The program is delivered through face-to-face and online learning methods, using experiential and project-based learning and assessment.
