Profile

Mr. Roggers Abong’o has been appointed as the founding Executive Director, KCA University Foundation who will serve as an ex officio member and secretary to the Foundation Board. He holds a Masters Degree in Data Communications (KCA University) and Bachelor’s Degree in I.T (JKUAT).
He served as the Principal of KCA University, Western – Kisumu Campus (2019-2021), Dean of Students at KCA University (2011 – 2018) and was elected as the founding Secretary General of Kenya Universities Deans of Students Association (KUDSA) from 2015 to 2019. The association brings together all Deans of Students in Kenya, both from Public and Private Universities, focusing on standardization of Student Affairs and nurturing young talents. As the Secretary General of KUDSA, he oversaw the development of the student leaders training curriculum, the Deans of Students Strategic Training Program, several student leaders’ workshops, and the engagement of student leaders and Deans of Students during the 2018 National Prayer Breakfast and National Dialogue 2018 in Kenya. He spearheaded fundraising efforts for the association
While serving as the Principal of KCA University Western Campus, he oversaw great transformation. He significantly improved the campus performance, besides creating a great impact in the region by working closely with regional and county leadership. In addition, he mobilized resources for the campus through trainings and education support.
He has served in several University committees, including the University Senate and University Management Board at KCA University. He has effectively mentored many students and mobilized funds for scholarship support. He also made significant contributions to the creation of the Career Services Office in Kenya, which the Ministry of Education rolled out. In addition, he was appointed as a curriculum expert for the Kenya School of Government, which is the official training arm of the Kenyan Government.
He has served as a member of the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) global advisory committee since 2015, a South Korean based NGO training young people on mind education and other life skills worldwide. He is currently serving as the Kenyan convener and chief advisor for the All Africa Students Union, an umbrella body bringing together all University Students from Africa.
He is a member of the KUZA Initiative Board, which oversees a mentorship initiative, financial support, and resource mobilization for young people in the republic of Kenya.
He is a mentor to young people both locally, regionally and globally, to this end he has moderated many sessions, including but not limited to; World Camp by IYF in South Korea 2015, Africa Students & Youth summit held in Kigali-Rwanda (2018), Africa Students & Youth summit held in Rabat-Morocco (2019).
Roggers equally does corporate Mcee as a hobby and has presided over many functions at the University but notably was the main Mcee during the Company of the Year Award (COYA) 2022 among many such engagements.
He brings a wealth of experience in resource mobilization anchored on reliable and stable global networks and his commitment to the course.
